Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Dr Jeffrey Cheah AO is the founder and chairman of Sunway Group, a leading Malaysian conglomerate with core interests in real estate, construction, education and healthcare. He is also the founding trustee of Malaysia’s largest education-focused social enterprise, the not-for-profit Jeffrey Cheah Foundation (JCF).
He firmly believes that education is the optimum route out of poverty and that quality education should be accessible. He endowed all his equity in the 16 institutions of the Sunway Education Group to JCF, which is valued at RM1 billion today. As of 2018, the Foundation has awarded more than RM402 million in scholarships to thousands of deserving students. Tan Sri Dr Jeffrey Cheah aims to award RM 1 billion in scholarships during his lifetime.
Demonstrating his commitment to the sustainability agenda, Tan Sri Dr Jeffrey Cheah through the JCF, endowed US$10 million to the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) which was used to establish the Jeffrey Sachs Center on Sustainable Development at Sunway University. The center is chaired by Professor Jeffrey D. Sachs, a world renowned economist and special adviser to the UN Secretary General and aims to develop the global expertise needed to move Malaysia and the region forward in the area of sustainable development. Tan Sri Dr Jeffrey Cheah currently chairs SDSN Malaysia, which is aimed at elevating awareness and implementing sustainable solutions.
Besides being conferred 10 honorary doctorates by leading universities worldwide, Tan Sri Dr Jeffrey Cheah has also been recognised twice as Forbes Asia Hero of Philanthropy in 2009 and 2015 respectively and a member of the Committee of University Resources at Harvard in 2015, among a long-growing list of accomplishments.

丹斯里谢富年也赋予联合国1千万美元,在双威大学成立了“杰弗里.萨克斯可持续发展中心”,以展现其对可持续发展议程的承诺。该中心由世界知名经济学家杰弗里.萨克斯教授主持。 萨克斯教授也是联合国秘书长特别顾问。该中心旨在建立及提供可持续发展领域的专业知识,并推动马来西亚和东南亚区域实现可持续发展的长远目标。以丹斯里谢富年为首,旨在提高醒觉和实践可持续发展的“马来西亚可持续发展解决方案网络” (UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network- Malaysia Chapter) 也设在该中心。

A veteran in the field of private higher education, Dr Elizabeth Lee with a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Education from the University of Cambridge, serves on various boards including the National Higher Education Research Institute (IPPTN and MERCY Malaysia. As a thought leader, she has had international speaking engagements at the Harvard Business School, University of Cambridge, University of Oxford, the University of Edinburgh and the Malaysia-UK Diamond Jubilee Forum in London.
An advocate for women in leadership, she is on the Trustee Committee of the Chair on Women Leadership at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. She also serves as a mentor in the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) global programme, and a member in the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) Council and the MQA Disciplinary Committee.
For her exceptional contributions to education in Malaysia, she has been bestowed with honorary doctorates by the University of Nottingham and Victoria University, and is a recipient of several international and national awards including the award for Women Entrepreneur in Canadian Education by the Malaysia Canada Business Council (MCBC), the Malaysian Chinese Women of Excellence Award in Education by Wanita MCA and the Education Leadership Award at the World Education Congress Global Awards.

The Utropolis Glenmarie campus houses the Schools of Hospitality, Tourism and Culinary Arts; School of Computing and Creative Media; School of Communication and Creative Arts; School of Business; and School of Engineering, and offers a wide range of academic programmes ranging from foundation, diploma, degree to postgraduate studies.

2019 marks the 40th anniversary for Pelangi Publishing Group (PPG), a monumental milestone for a company that started out to supply the demand of locally written revision books for examinations.

Established in 1981, Morubina Holdings is the parent company of Big Apple Eduworld that has completed several notable projects such as Hillcity Hotel&Condo, Ipoh & Kinta Riverfront Hotel&Suites, Ipoh. When it was first started in 1993, Big Apple was not known as Big Apple Eduworld, it actually went by the name of M.M.S.B. Eduworld. The first branch was built in 1993 operated in a 2-room apartment at Greentown, Ipoh. Until now, it has 18 branches nationwide, ten in Perak, and eight in Selangor and Wilayah Persekutuan with more than 30,000 graduates.
The mission of Big Apple is to inspire and nurture the young minds. Big Apple has a team of people working for the research and development department to involve in planning and developing the syllabus, the curriculum, the books, the activities, events and camps inside and outside the country.
We design our own syllabus and books following the guidelines set by the National Preschool Curriculum Standard, which are in line with the syllabus used in our existing national schools. Our syllabus is complete with a set of facilities for the students to learn beyond the classroom. Our “Big Apple” is a trademark registered under Class 41.

Since its establishment in 1987, Sunway College has steadily grown into a popular household name in private higher education in Malaysia. MMU is a subsidiary of Telekom Malaysia Bhd. It is a private university offering market driven tertiary level programmes ranging from Foundation to Doctoral degrees. Dedicated to setting up of charitable institutions both locally and internationally to provide facilities to help the poor and needy irrespective of nationality, age, sex, race and religion in providing educational opportunity, healthcare, social services and disaster relief. This will be done in accordance to the universal spiritual values of love, compassion and integrity.
For the past 12 years we have been operating a community centre for the poor and needy in Pangsapuri Enggang, Bandar Kinrara, Puchong. In the morning from Monday – Friday, 8.00am – 12 noon, we have a childcare center where 40 children from 3-6 years old are taught to read, write and sing in Bahasa Malaysia, English and a little of Tamil and Mandarin. Games and activities involving team spirit are organised to promote understanding and compassion. In the evening from Monday – Thursday, 7.30 – 9.30pm, free tuition classes are provided for Std 1 – Form 5 students. Only core subjects viz. Bahasa Malaysia, English, Maths and Science are taught by school teachers, university students and professionals. Currently we have 7 teachers assisting us in this endeavour catering for 120 children.On a monthly basis, we provide food provisions to 50 families. Lately, we have the pleasure to work jointly with MyKasih Foundation, where they have undertaken to provide monthly food provision jointly with Giant Hypermarket in Puchong. The Center still provides extra food provisions for the larger families. Medical camps are organised on a yearly basis for all and daily medical problems are also attended by our Center to the nearby clinic.
Here we cater for 100 children from Primary 1-6 and Secondary 1-5 free tuition. Other than the core subjects of Bahasa Malaysia, English, Maths and Science, we also cater for the Form 5 students subjects like Accounting, Additional Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. For the lower primary we also have a special tamil class for the children from the Tamil School. Here only 10 families are given free food provisions. Classes are from Tuesday – Friday (7.30pm – 9.30pm) and Sat & Sun (10.00am – 12.00pm).
We also cater for 100 students from Primary 1-6 and Secondary 1-5. This center teaches the same core subjects as in Cempaka Community Center. The demographics are basically the same as Cempaka except gangsterism is more prevalent here. Teachers here need more protection and children are all escorted by their parents after classes. Classes are from Tuesday – Friday (7.30pm – 9.30pm) and Sat & Sun (10.00am – 12.00pm)
Here we cater for 50 children from Primary 1 – 6 and Secondary 1 – 5. Classes are only held on Fri 8.00pm – 10pm; Sat and Sun from 11.00am – 1.00pm. This scheduling is requested by the both the families and teachers.
Every two years in December, a week long motivational boot camp is organized for all including mothers at Semenyih national service camp. Professional facilitators are hired to organized activities to promote team work like canoeing, flying fox, jungle tracking, obstacle courses and games. Professional motivational speakers like Prof Kadeer Ibrahim are also invited to teach both the students and mothers in their studies and attitude changing methodology to further their advancement in life. At the end of the week, groups of students are required to perform before a group of audiences where the best team will win major prizes. It is here that all students who scored As in the examinations are rewarded with cash and prizes. This year end event is one where all students, mothers and facilitators looked forward to year after year.......
In December, we also provide all the children school uniforms, shoes, socks and bags to start their new term in school. We will also have our tadika graduation and performance for our six years olds who will be advancing to Std 1.
Kassim Chin Humanity Foundation has now three (3) centers viz. in Puchong and Batu Caves. There are altogether 350 children from ages of 3 – 17 years old. All educational needs are provided for. The Foundation also distribute food provisions to 60 families on a monthly basis.

Han Chiang University College of Communication (HCUC) is a not-for-profit institution of higher education which offers affordable yet high quality education for its community. The history of HCUC can be traced all the way back to 1978 when Han Chiang High School introduced a journalism programme as its post-secondary education, which successfully yielded a good amount of journalists for the media industry.
This has then resulted in the birth of Han Chiang College of Communication in 1999. Since then, the College has expanded its horizons and made its foray into other disciplines. The campus achieved a greater height when it received a formal invitation from the Ministry of Education Malaysia (now known as MoHE - Ministry of Higher Education) to be upgraded to a University College on 2nd of December 2014. Today, HCUC is a renowned institution nationwide catering to the educational needs of both local and international students.

The Utropolis Glenmarie campus houses the Schools of Hospitality, Tourism and Culinary Arts; School of Computing and Creative Media; School of Communication and Creative Arts; School of Business; and School of Engineering, and offers a wide range of academic programmes ranging from foundation, diploma, degree to postgraduate studies.

New Era University College owes its existence to the Chinese community in Malaysia and its multicultural heritage. Established in 1998 as a community college with the unstinting financial, intellectual and emotional support of all walks of life of Malaysian Chinese society, New Era was upgraded to university college status by the Ministry of Higher Education on 30th December 2016. We are now ready and able to play an even bigger role as a provider of quality community-oriented tertiary education to serve the needs, not just of the community, but of the nation.
Our university college currently has three faculties: Arts & Social Science, Media and Creative Arts, and Business and Information Technology, with altogether nine departments: Chinese Language & Literature, Guidance & Counselling Psychology, Education, Media Studies, Art & Design, Drama & Visuals, Business Studies, Finance & Accounting, and Computer Science & Information Technology.

Since its establishment in 1987, Sunway College has steadily grown into a popular household name in private higher education in Malaysia. Sunway College is an education provider of internationally recognised pre-university, diploma programmes, professional accounting programmes as well as undergraduate twinning degree and MBA programmes with Victoria University, Australia. 多媒体大学是马电讯的子公司。本校校友及工业界同僚定期与大学教授检讨课程,让学生未毕业时,就了解市场及工业需求。本校所提供的课程乃依据市场需求而设,因此97%以上的学生能在毕业后的6个月内迅速受聘,更有许多校友创立公司,为我国数码经济贡献良多。除了学费,大学10% 的收入是由本校教授们通过工业咨询而赚取,进一步加强大学与工业界的合作。

Sim Educare & Learning Sdn Bhd is founded in 1999 by Madam Lee Phaik Hwa. About 20 years ago, in the rural area, education was not of high importance. Although many parents wished to educate their children, they were effortless as they were not highly educated themselves. Madam Lee realised the importance of education after her marriage into a big family and offered to teach her nephews and nieces, who then progressed tremendously (academically). Through word of mouth, the surrounding neighbours then requested Madam Lee to teach their children. As how her nephews and nieces addressed her – “Sim” (homophonic of a Teochew title referring to a younger aunt of the paternal family) – the children followed suit and address her as “Sim” teacher. The number of students under her wings grew as time glided. Today, there are over 35 Sim branches (Direct Branches & Franchise Branches) in the northern region & central region of Malaysia & 17 outlets for Eduative Program Licensing.

Our Co-Founder, Mr. CK Chiau believes that good and fair education should be accessible to everyone, after experiencing firsthand how his family financial constraint cut short his dream to study abroad. This reason drives him to actively explore affordable study abroad options throughout the years. The inception of MyStudy in 2008 is to provide services for students who want to pursue their tertiary education outside Malaysia.
